Visiting til Saturday, what to do in east bay area?
We're in the bay area until Saturday while my wife is here on business. I've already got plans for the day while she's working, and for the day before we fly away, but I was hoping someone could give some tips on what to do in the evenings. We're staying in San Ramon so I'd like to find something that's not too far away. We do have a rental car. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I'm planning to move to northern California in 2013 and am hoping you can offer some advice about where to live. It needn't necessarily be within the Bay Area itself, but I would like to be at least 1-3 hours away by car. I'm not looking for action-- I'd prefer a relatively small, quiet community with a colder climate (I hate heat/sun, love fog/rain) and easily accessible nature. A place where I can ride my bicycle to fetch the groceries is ideal.

The basics:
- Commuting is not an issue, as I work from home.
- Single, female, no kids/pets
- Looking to rent a room or studio for 750/mo maximum.

If you can think of some places that sound similar to what I've described, I'd be truly grateful. Thank you!

Driving w/o a license/insurance/registration legally
My friend's license was suspended and she wants to buy a scooter in lieu of getting her license back. She thinks she will have to pay off all her tickets before she gets it back. Is that true? I can't find the answer anywhere.

Also, is there anything she can "drive" without a license? Like a scooter?

She lives in California.

where to watch the election
Does anyone have any suggestions on a not too crowded restaurant, lounge or bar in the East Bay that has a big screen tv and might be a good place to watch the election? Four years ago I watched it at the pho place on E 18th in Oakland. It would be an awesome place to watch the election again if the pho was better.

Hello, my name is Aurora. I'll be moving to SF from Miami the first week or so of October. I'll be driving this long distance with my boyfriend and my cat. We are looking for apartments and such on craigslist, however we are not so familiar with the area. We'd like to live closer to the city. Does anyone know of good areas? A company similar to "renters paradise" where we would be able to find an apartment? Any first hand experience would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone!
I just moved to the bay area last Friday. I'm staying with a friend in Berkeley until I get on my feet.
I'm searching CL for rooms in SF itself under $850 that allow dogs and I'm not coming up with much.
I have a 10lb dog who is honestly an angel. He's perfectly behaved and quiet.

Does anyone have any leads or have any tips other than CL?

Thank you so much in advance!

question about changing kaiser doc
I'm wondering if anyone in this community has Kaiser and has changed their Kaiser doc at least once? When you change your doc, do you need to call your current doc's office to make sure they fax or mail your medical records to new doc or does your current doc's office do that automatically? Not all of my lab work is done with Kaiser, hence my question. I currently see someone at Kaiser Oakland and might change to seeing someone at Kaiser Richmond or Kaiser Pinole (or might stay with Kaiser Oakland if I can find someone else decent there).

Parks in the East Bay

Could anyone please recommend nice parks in the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Walnut Creek, etc)? I'm looking for a good location for Senior Portraits.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Bay Area,

I'm VERY interested in getting a branding tattoo, where the artist actually uses some sort of super hot instrument and basically gives you a scar in the shape of whatever you want. I would love to get a scientifically accurate drawing of an octopus on my shoulder.

I don't even know where to start looking for an artist like this, though. Anyone have any recommendations?

Lost dog!
My sister's dog ran away from his dogwalker at Point Isabel today. He has been lost since 2:30 pm. He is a 2 yr old Papillon named Dragon, white with black and brown spots. Friendly but initially rather shy, needs slow and gentle approach. He has tags with mine and my sister's phone numbers on it. Likely at this point he is hiding for the night, but if you see him at Point Isabel or the condo area north of there, along the bicycle path, please contact me immediately. We will be checking the shelters and putting up flyers, but I'm trying every avenue. This is what he looks like.
