Rory Root: 1958 - 2008



The owner of Comic Relief, Rory D. Root, passed away recently from hernia complications at the age of 50.

Worst. News. Ever...


I hope Lee Hester of Lee's Comics won't mind if I link a post he made about Rory here. It was very moving. Also, here's a nice article from The Comics Reporter.

He's the old man who taught me how to read and appreciate a proper graphic novel back in the day, something I treasure today. RIP, old rambler.

The man was a sweetheart and passionate about comics. What a loss for us and how lucky we were to have him for a time.
